Song for the Mute is an Australian label founded in 2010, headed by co-founders Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty. Placing the utmost significance on fabrics, the intention is to share their own stories and experiences through the form of garments to connect with the wearer. Raw edges combined with unlined exposed interiors highlight the beauty in imperfection. This roughness is juxtaposed with a more traditional approach to garment making, resulting in a modern interpretation of elegantly executed garments that has earned them international acclaim.
